Contemplative, moody and thought provoking. Subaltern Soundscapes forms the sonic environment of the SubAltern Stories. The SubAltern project is 'cybertronic punk.' I have been fascinated with cyberpunk stories, films, anime and video games. I use electronic instruments—synths, guitars, drum machines, samples and tape manipulation— to produce a soundtrack of the world of cyberpunk. Although the majority of my music is instrumental, some of my songs have lyrics that describe what it's like to live in that world. Subalterns are the underclass of people who live in a hidden world. Excluded from the Techno-Empire of wealth and power, they survive on the edges of cities and the margins of societies. I record music that creates that sonic science fictional world.
